July 18

Hello all!

Another week, and another goodbye. Mom Dad and Uncle Tim left today. It was great to see them down here!! I had soo much fun with them, and it was great to see them interacting with the kids, and doing the work. Thanks mom dad and uncle tim!!! we miss you already!

Our faith right now has never been stronger. Our lives have drastically changed over these last two weeks, and the way we see and Love will never be the same. I wake up everymorning to a sky of endless possibilities, but when I look down I see the true reality of our world. and as a mission to save the hearts of these children, and piece them back to gether, gets harder and harder and harder. but as we work together, and with "one another", we can accomplish the imposible. we must challenge ourselves and especially others to stand up. It gets so crazy in our normal lives, but if take a few minutes out of every day, to just pray, and to thank God for what we have, then we take a step closer to God. the patience of love and the patience of prayer are so hard, and I know because I deal with it every day. but God has a plan, and as much as waiting is the last thing I want to do, his plan will soon prevail. But knowing this, my love and prayers continue and get stronger each day. it may take a few weeks, or maybe even a few months. but if we truly care, his plan is perfect, that it is worth the wait.

God Bless all of you!

Today we went back to Del Norte, and worked. We dug some more holes, and laid some more concrete. We tore down the existing fence and prepared the ground for cinder blocks. Mom and dad and Uncle time dug and pushed wheel barrows all day. they were very tired. Victoria and some of the other group members bought flowers and they planted them in the planter that they sealed the other day. around 4, the kids came out and we games with them and we brought a pinyata, hope I spelled that right, and the kids had a blast. it was great to see them smilling and having fun!! At Del Norte they have a bakery that helps raise money for the home. the bread is sooooo good, and the cookies and suger buns a great. Uncle Tim bought a whole tray of cookies and gave them to the kids. It was so cool, and so nice of him. Unfortunatly Uncle Tim and my parents leave Tomorrow, but I am so happy that I was able to share this amazing experience with them!

Today we went to the Cateryata. This is a poor area on the out skirts of Monterrey. The houses have no rooves, some walls, and usually no water. An out house no roads, kids with no shoes, and no food. No money, barley any jobs, and barley any Hope. We worked on the communty center and church building today. We did some concrete work, and Uncle Tim and I built wood benches. Victoria helped prepare lunch, which was hot dogs, and dad cooked them. Mom went around and invited people to eat. she brushed up on her spanish a bit. The day was very draining emotionally. Although this was my 3rd time there this monthe, and Victorias 2nd, we are still in complete shock when we arrive each time. Uncle Tim and I walked around the "streets" and passed out candy to the kids. It was a really great time to talk and hang with him!!! We ate at Pollo Loco to night. (Crazy Chicken) which is sooo good. Definatly Victoria and I's favorite!
sorry the post is a little short tonight, we didnt get home from Bible study till late tonight! Pics to come tomorrow!!!!!!
Thanks everyone!!

July 15

Today was my day off, but I worked this morning on the property along with my parents and Uncle Tim. It was a great day. Victoria and I were in charge of painting the upper floor of one of the teen homes. Mom went with one of the other inturns and they checked wireing and electric in all the houses. Dad and Uncle Tim worked in the clinic running electric and feeding lines. It was a lot lighter day for them. haha. In the afternoon I took a nap and I also got a chance to talk to Liz. It was great to talk to her and catch up! The kids from Del Norte came and swam and they ate dinner with the group. The kids are soo cute!
Im not sure if I have mentioned it or not, but everynight we have worship on the campus. It is just a time to reflect and pray and truly connect with God. We pray and sing, and it really brings the day to a great end!
After worship tonight dad got his head shaved by one of the group members. I asked uncle Tim if he was gonna shave his, and he said that if he did, it would be like getting a regular hair cut. haha. I am so happy that Uncle tim is down here. I Love watching him interact with the kids, and I see the Joy in there faces when he plays with them. He is great with them and it always makes me smile. I am glad that he is able to share this opportunity with me and I cant thank him enough for joining me down here. Thank you uncle tim!!!!
Victoria and I are having such an amazing experience. We become stronger in our faith, and our hearts each day.....and in our arms...haha...but we have come to know a new meaning and a greater outlook on life. We always talk about our first trip and how it changed us soo much, but when we look at the time we have had here now, we find that Gods plan for us has only just begun.

July 14th

Hello all
Today I went Del Norte again with Mom dad and Uncle Tim. We finished digging the holes from yesterday, and then filled a concrete base in each. I found out toady that we get to dig another 8 holes this week. haha. We average about one to two holes a day. It was a great day though. The other holes that were dry from earlier in the week, we were able to fill those and stablize the concrete beams. Dad Mom, and Uncle Tim did concrete work today. yea they were bustin out those muscles. haha. we played with the kids this afternoon, and had a blast. They are so cute. I just cant belive that someome this cute and sweet be in a place like this. God sends us all kinds of messages. and this is a tough one. But his words are strong, and I trust in him to show me the way of christ.

July 14th Victoria's day off!

hey all, today is my day off this week! im loving it! I consider to see myself grow more and more each day, both spiritually and mentally. the past two days we have been with a childrens home called del norte. There is a little girl who is about 3 or 4 there named juanita. her and i have become best buddies. she is the one in the picture from yesterdays blog. yesterday as i was looking at her something inside me clicked and i knew that i am here for a reason and I know i am supposed to be here. it is a feeling inside i cant explain but i know that at this point in my life this is where i am supposed to be. Juanita is so precious. all she ever wants to do is be held and loved on which i also love so it works out pretty good :) yesterday i held her for hours. it was funny because when you rub her back, she also rubs yours. i have absolutely fallen in love with this little girl. when i asked her if she wanted to come home with me and live with me she said yes and just smiled real big. i wish i could make her dream come true and take her to live with me and she would grow up in a loving family environment instead of a childrens home where she has to share a room with about 20 other kids, has no clothes of her own, they all share and most of them are hand me downs anyways, and where every night she could be tucked in her own room and read to and prayed with. unfortunately this dream seems like an impossibility, but i am putting it in gods hands.

July 13

Today was a great day. Hot...but great. the high reached 113 Degrees, and it is supposed to be like that the rest of the week. haha. We went to Casa Hogar Del Norte today. This is one of the childrens homes, and it is about 45 min from the B2B Campus. Victoria and I are working together this week, along side of my parents and the group from South Carolina. It was great to see my parents and Uncle experiencing the same things we did on our first trip. I loved watching them play with the kids and seeing there faces in both sadness and Joy. It was a blessing to see there Love spread even more!!

At Del Norte I help lead a group to dig holes for concrete beems. these wernt just small holes either.haha. Im talking 4ft x 4ft, and 5 ft deep. yea thats a big hole. try digging 8 of them. Just a little sore, haha. it was funny when they were asking who wanted to do what jobs, Uncle tim and dad both kinda stepped back when they heard concrete, digging, and jackhammering. yea they are getting old. haha. Victoria lead a group that painted and sealed a planter ditch. She had white paint all over her. haha. Mom dad and Uncle tim scraped the medal beams in the soon to be out door aditorium and also did some paint stripping. Mom picked up a hammer and chissel. I was shocked!! haha. Just kidding.

later the kids came out and we played games, colered and had fun with them. It was a great productive day!

Fri july 11

I began my day with a view. This view, unnormal, in size, in heart, and in soal. A view of clear blue skies and mountains that looked as if they could scrape the skies. It was a view of endless possiblities, and dreams. A view of opportunity. Times pass. people go. But whats truly in our hearts continues to grow. Life is so full of own complications, that we fail to slow down and look at the bigger picture. A view...Gods View. To live a dream of helping one another, and loving them as if they were our own. A cute smile, and a warm hug always make a differnce. but when we take the time to look inside the heart of others, we accomplish things greater then we could ever believe. Complications will rise, and our faith may seem small. But if our hearts continue to love and experience the joy of others, we will rise in the eyes of our Lord Jesus.

We read a chapter out a book today in our Bible study Groups. There are Four other intern guys, and our leader Greg. The book and the author escape my mind at the moment, but the chapter was called the Barbarian Tribe. It talks about a "spirit of eternity", and an "untamed faith." Now as began to read this, my mind kinda flipped on a light. It talks about how we get to know God. That people often rely on scripture to connect with God. which in true reality is the truth. The Bible is our source. But what it is explaining, is that the Bible is not the only source. The true source is in our Minds and our hearts. It is how we connect with God on a personal and sometimes physical way that leads us through our lives. the "Spirit of God"..... It states that to know God in the scriptures always went beyond information to intimacy. Now we may find ourselves uncomfortable with this reality, but the faith of the scriptures is a different faith. It sometimes leads us beyond the material world, into an invisable reality. But to realize that faith, that untamed faith. the essense of Love, passion, hopes and dreams, is the true spirit of God. and this spirit, can only be obtained by those who truly open up there hearts and there minds to Jesus.

May we all find that untamed faith in our hearts, and connect with the true, and eternal,... spirit of God.
